Description

We are looking for experienced Geotechnical Materials Field Technician with possible lab experience. This is a great opportunity for those looking to continue expanding their career potential. We have a lot of work in the foreseeable future. Successful candidate will be potentially responsible for testing of concrete, soils and asphalt. Experience would be preferred but not necessary. Experience would include: certifications such as ACI, WAQTC, NICET, and/or CAPA. Position will also include laboratory work, including but not limited to proctors, aggregate testing, sieve analysis, etc.

**GREAT PAY** **MUST HAVE CLEAN DRIVING RECORD AND BACKGROUND** Work truck will be provided for testing services.

Requirements

  • Ability to pick up 50+lbs.
  • Great attitude
  • Clean driving record along with current valid driver’s license

Duties Include:

  • Data entry for both field, lab, and daily reports
  • Maintaining digital files
  • Answering phones
  • Taking scheduling appointments communicating those to the construction manager
  • Maintaining office and supplies for office
  • Maintaining the copier, office equipment, toiletries for both restrooms
  • Cleanliness in bathrooms, trash collection, vacuuming, cleaning around the office as needed
  • Getting the mail, sorting through and getting information to CFO as needed
  • Distributing and collecting new employee paperwork to the HR Manager
  • Responsible for office keys and reproducing and ordering new keys
  • Project set up sheets and folders and maintaining project files
  • Collects approved timesheets from the construction manager and distribute a copy to the CEO for final billing and accounting for payroll

Needs to be confident with Word, Excel, and teachable with new templates and comfortable navigating around the internet. Previous administrative experience is preferred. Good communication skills and keyboard skills are necessary.

There are times you would be alone in the office and you need to be comfortable with working independently.

Job Description

Manage all aspects of materials engineering projects to ensure that it is safely completed on time, within scope, and budget. Responsible for completing the project as per its contracted scope; monitor progress, and conformance with the project plans and specifications. Troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets, and forecasts, work with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors. Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project to the project team and clients. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones. May have responsibilities to communicate with the client and deliver work products to satisfaction of client. May be responsible for preparing invoices, preparing change orders, and collections. Responsible for business development, client management, preparing proposals/take offs, training staff, and mentoring staff. May be responsible for field testing, laboratory testing, and leading staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practices; including: Engineering, Geology, Construction
  • Management and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience. Valid driver’s license with clean DMV record.

Preferred

  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I certification
  • Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association – LabCAT A&B certification
  • WAQTC Transportation Technician certification
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred but not required.

Job Description

We are actively seeking a team member who is currently working in the field of geotechnical engineering. You will be assisting project managers while working directly with clients under the supervision of a professional engineer logging and classification of soils in the field, performing geotechnical subsurface evaluations, foundation designs and calculations, septic designs, creating figures in CAD, shoring designs, and assisting in the oversight of lab analysis and troubleshooting. Additional duties include compilation of geotechnical laboratory test data, geotechnical calculations, lateral earth pressure, foundation capacity, settlements, and deep foundation design.

Education

B.S. / B.A. (Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Engineering) and Engineer-in-training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) certification required.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will be entry level up to 2 years of experience, preferably with a geotechnical consulting firm performing duties described above. Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic. Must be able to work both independently and as a team member.
