Best Engineering was retained for ground water quality testing and dry injection well development for excess groundwater that was surging through the sump pump of a new development called “Cirrus” at Grove Street in Denver, Colorado. The project generally consisted of monitor well, sewer system, and ground water management systems water testing for heavy metals, volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, inorganic compounds, radionuclides, disinfectants and disinfectant byproducts, pesticides, and herbicides. This testing was done to determine what chemicals in the groundwater were above the approved EPA threshold and come to a proper disposal plan of the excess water. The proposed solution is to redirect the excess water to a dry injection well located on site where it will gradually percolate back down into the groundwater aquifer.
