ACC Built/CDOT. – Quality Assurance, Aug. 2022 – Present, Harlan Bridge, Denver, Colorado
Best Engineering LLC was retained for a roadway project for CDOT and prime contractor, ACC Built. This project to replace the I-70 bridge over Harlan Street began in August of 2022. With close proximity to Interstate 76, US 287 and CO 121, this bridge experiences the highest daily traffic volumes in this corridor. Due to its age, heavy usage, and the seasonal weather, this bridge experiences frequent deck and concrete cracking. All of these factors have contributed to the need for replacing the I-70 bridge over Harlan Street.
Additionally, this project put in a new traffic signal, reconstructed the exiting traffic signal, and added a new raised island to the intersection to prevent unexpected turning vehicles. New sidewalks were built under the reconstructed I-70 Harlan bridge. All of these improvements aided in creating more safety for traffic and left turning vehicles.
Best Engineering provided quality assurance throughout the entirety of this project. Quality assurance procedures verify and document that established quality control procedures have been implemented during the execution of a project. QA is performed through audits throughout the project. The QA auditor will ensure that all quality control procedures have been met and all pans and draws have been properly updated to proceed with the project.
